As we plan for BHoF’s future, the voices of the burlesque community are more important than ever. So we are planning a public town hall meeting on July 19 where you can ask questions about what BHoF’s doing and help shape our immediate future. We are also forming a Community Council, and ongoing advisory group that will meet monthly going forward to help work out what BHoF should be in the years to come. We hope you’ll join us!
BHoF Town Hall: July 19, 1pm PST
Join us for an informal chat with BHoF director Dustin Wax to discuss BHoF’s current activities and future plans. The event will take place via Zoom on July 19 at 1pm PDT (2p MDT, 3p CDT, 4p EDT). Register at https://bhof.link/TownHall.
Join our Community Council!
Want to have a lasting impact on the direction of BHoF? Join our Community Council, an advisory committee consisting of a dozen or so burlesque community members like you. The Community Council will meet monthly to discuss current BHoF projects, marketing and fundraising ideas, long-term plans for the organization, and other issues as they arise. Each Community Council member will act as a conduit from their communities to BHoF and as an ambassador from BHoF back to their communities.
An application form is available now and we aim to fill at least 12 positions in time to meet in September. Our goal is to create as widely representative a group as possible while remaining a reasonable-sized group so we won’t be able to take everyone at first, but we encourage everyone who feels they have something to offer to apply.
The first round of applications will close August 10. Go ahead and apply today at https://bhof.link/CommunityCouncil!
