Congratulations to Stella Gams, our 2024 Sparkly Devil Memorial Scholarship recipient! Stella was selected for her work in creating and maintaining a diverse burlesque community in Yellowknife (Sǫ̀ mbak’è) in Canada’s Northwest Territories, and her commitment to improvement of both herself and her community.

“I am overwhelmed with deep gratitude and joy at receiving the Sparkly Devil Memorial Scholarship,” she says. “This once in a lifetime opportunity is not one I take lightly.  I intend to honor and respect the selection committee’s trust in me as I do the legends and the burlesque community as a whole.  I am so excited to listen, learn, share and build connections during this celebratory weekend.”

Stella receives a full pass to the BHoF Weekender this year, admission to all Finishing School classes, and a hotel room for the event. They will also be paired with one of the attending Legends to act as their escort for the Weekender.

The Sparkly Devil Memorial Scholarship encourages a stronger relationship between the younger and older generations of burlesque performers and to instill a sense of service to the burlesque community. Recipients are chosen for their commitment to the burlesque community and for their ability and willingness to share their knowledge and experiences back to the burlesque community.
